Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991, in London and moved to Milan at a young age. Early on, he showed a deep love for the Catholic faith, which even inspired his mother to deepen her faith. At the age of 11, he began a website cataloging Eucharistic miracles from around the world.
Carlo was known for his kindness and generosity, especially towards the homeless. He called the Eucharist “my highway to heaven.” In 2006, he was diagnosed with leukemia, but despite his illness, he continued to profess his faith and inspire others. Carlo passed away at the age of 15 on October 12, 2006.
In 2013, the process for his beatification began. On October 10, 2020, Carlo was beatified by Pope Francis and is known as the “patron saint of the internet.” With great joy, we announce that on May 23, 2024, the canonization process for Carlo Acutis has begun! His beatification was already a wonderful milestone, and now we are at the beginning of his canonization process. View the translation of the Vatican’s announcement.
Stichting Acutis aims to revive the love for the Eucharist in the Netherlands through good entrepreneurship and a modern approach. We focus on (1) evangelization, (2) catechesis, and (3) offering new tools to achieve our goal. Named after Blessed Carlo Acutis, Stichting Acutis follows his inspiring example in proclaiming the Eucharist.
